www.forbes.com/sites/billfrist/2015/09/19/dont-eliminate-the-one-health-agency-aimed-at-fixing-our-broken-system/2/After reading Dr. Makrary's book, Unnaccountable: What hopsitals wont tell you and how transparency can revolutionize healthcare, I've been convinced that improved quality efforts and guidelines is critical for our health system to work and want to work in this field. There are many examples where simple procedural fixes can have an extremely impactful outcome. I am typically in favor of smaller government, but as a government agency that conducts this non-biased research, AHRQ, is essential to our sustained effort to improve the delivery of healthcare. Even if NIH studies prove which treatments are better, if we do not have a functional health system, this information is useless. For the future of medicine, I truly hope that the congress does not defund this agency.
