www.wsj.com/articles/heart-surgeon-brings-high-tech-healthcare-to-the-worlds-poor-1442391424There has been discussion about making hospitals more specialized. Especially urban ones that do a lot of high volume/complex stuff. But I'm not sure if its moved past that stage. It's interesting because 60 years ago, America had the same dilemma of ensuring healthcare for the masses. They decided to go with Medicare/Medicaid and make it a government program that created a floor for prices since the government was willing to pay much higher than the common man they were taking care of. India being in a similar position that America was then, isn't using the government (they don't trust them that much) but instead is having to use the private free market to find innovative solutions. I want to see if this continues to be scaleable, because i'm all for the free market providing solutions to social issues.
