One of the reasons that people resist the idea of socialized medicine is the lack of control that physicians will have in such system. WIthout any leverage, physicians in Britain, are already one of the lowest paid in the developed world. Interestingly, reports claim that physician salaries are a very small percentage of overall health care costs, so I wonder how much savings a pay cut will actually create. On a macro level and practical level as a future physician, I wonder who would become a physician in Britain is so low?. Wouldn't there be a brain drain of physicians to better compensated countries?
